Medical Social Services and Counseling
A hospice social worker is assigned to every patient to assist the patient and their family/caregiver with a variety of support services such as (1) emotional support, counseling and guidance in coping with stress related to the patient’s condition; (2) identify community resources available and appropriate for the patient and/or caregiver; and (3) provides information about advance directives and assistance with funeral arrangements or any type of placement possibly needed.
