Bereavement Services
Our Bereavement Program is an important part of our hospice care, and offers individual and group support to those who are anticipating, or have experienced, the loss of a loved one. Camellia’s team of Social Workers and Chaplains assist families and caregivers during this emotionally difficult time. Our Chaplains have specialized training in pastoral care to provide effective emotional support and both religious and non-religious spiritual support. Our Social Workers have specialized training that enables them to provide excellent emotional support to our families and caregivers.
Spiritual/Emotional Support
Our bereavement support is available to our families for a period of 13 months following the family’s loss of their loved one. For needs that extend the scope of our hospice bereavement services, referrals to other organizations and professional services within the community are available.
Support Groups and Programs
Sometimes we need a little extra support as we struggle with grief. We believe that our Bereavement Support Groups may help in coping with the loss of a loved one. If you, or anyone you know, may need a helping hand to cope with a loss, we invite you to attend one of our Bereavement Support Groups. Our Bereavement Support Groups are led by our Social Workers and Chaplains, and free to the public. For dates and locations, please visit our “Events” page, or click here for more information.
At Camellia, we believe it is important to celebrate the lives of our hospice patients we have cared for when life really matters. In memory of our loving hospice patients, we invite all of our patient’s family members, friends and loved ones to join us each year for our Annual Memorial Service as we commemorate the lives of our patients and the special way they touched each of us. For more information, please contact one of our hospice offices or watch our website for further announcements.
